Honorable Mention at the Gallant Precision Machining Co. (GPM) AI Automation Equipment Creation Award (2024), a corporate competition for designs that put AI into real, buildable automation equipment.

Our team entered the AI-powered optical-inspection design that later grew into my patent-pending AOI device: a photoelastic imaging front end, custom fixturing and motion, and a deep-learning defect classifier, designed together as one machine. As team lead I owned the system architecture across optics, mechanism, firmware, and the inference pipeline, and packaged it into a proposal a manufacturing jury could evaluate for cost, throughput, and integration effort.

The award was early outside validation that the design could work as production equipment, and it pushed the project toward the patent filing and the full prototype.
