Bronze Prize at the Symtek Automation Asia Co. Smart Manufacturing Paper Contest (2023), an industry paper competition judged on practical value to the production floor.

My paper presented the AI real-time quality-prediction system I built as a research assistant at NTNU. The pipeline samples live machine signals, screens the high-impact factors with Taguchi methods, and feeds an MLP that predicts product weight to within 0.2%, accurate enough to catch quality drift during the run instead of after inspection.

The same work became an academic paper at ARIS 2023. For this contest I rewrote it for an industrial jury, arguing the results in terms of scrap rate, inspection cost, and retrofit effort rather than model metrics. Learning to present research to the people who would buy the machine was worth as much as the prize itself.
